Download ios for cisco 1841 router
As sold none mentioned memory, only flash so I bought only those with 64mb or above and have some spare cards I now need to see how many have enough memory and whether i need to buy more memory on EBay or not.
I'm not treating it as a way to get work at this time, for the moment i'm still employed, but broaden knowledge. I have server experience and limited network. CCNA is a start. I'm going to go down the route, after that not sure where best to go next. I'll check the ram on each of the switches and get back to you. Juniper - thats more Wan based right?
We have cisco locally, but I'm aware we also have Juniper in out network. Largely its all managed by an external company so will never really be able to apply it at current job but then broadening knowledge isn't about current job.
When I updated my routers images, I had the memory issue, too. Went on Ebay and found the largest memory modules that would fit the 's. They were not expensive. However, the first test had questions I then learned when studying for the second test. If I had known that information, could have gotten a better score on the first test. Now I am starting the juniper certifications and trying to figure out what I need to buy. The latest file i have is cadvipservicesk9-mz.
I updated the 2 - now just 2 and a to update. Its strange having to patch them without knowledge before even being able to begin. But in a way, its a good way to learn. I am not sure what the latest IOS is. I am running adventerprisek9-mz. Been running ;52 on my switches forever. Yes there may well be fixes for things on the later IOS's but for learning this matters not one little bit as none of the CCNx labs I've ever done have hit a bug.
I still have the switches to go, I wasn't bothered by the advipservices bit - as that largely depends on the services you require, the enterprise one simply has more services afaik.
